A major milestone in dairy development was achieved with the launch of ghee production at the Small Ghee Processing Plant in Ngatshang Geog. The initiative marks a new chapter in dairy value addition, creating sustainable income generation opportunities for dairy farming households while strengthening the local dairy enterprise through the collective efforts of the Dzongkhag and Geog Administrations, the livestock sector, dairy farmers and the community.

During the launching of product, Dasho Dzongdag highlighted the importance of value addition, product branding and market development in improving farmers’ incomes and building a resilient rural economy. The initiative supports Dzongkhag’s objectives of promoting sustainable agriculture, enhancing food security and creating better market opportunities for dairy farmers through small-scale agro-processing enterprises. It is one of the key deliverables of the sector for fiscal year.
