The highlight of the last day of Mongar Tshechu is the unfurling of the Guru Tshengye Thongdrel. The Thongdrel is unfurled as early as four AM and viewing the Thongdrel is believed to cleanse sins and bestow blessings. As is the case every year, thousands thronged to offer prayers and receive blessings from the Thongdrel.

This is followed by powerful masked dances, especially the re-enactment of Guru Rinpoche’s eight divine manifestations, creating a spiritually charged and colorful atmosphere. Besides, the Dzongkhag mask dancers performed one of the renowned Dramedtse NgaCham and Cultural items by the Dzongkhag dancers, featuring a blend of both Zhungdra and Boedra, made the event even more delightful.

More than thousands gathered in the courtyard of Mongar Dzong to witness the Tshechu and receive blessings from the Guru Rinpoche.
