The 8th Dzongkhag Tshogdu (DT) Session of the 3rd Local Government (LG) for Mongar Dzongkhag commenced today at the DT Hall, coinciding with the 25th day of the 6th Bhutanese month, corresponding to 18th August 2025. The session formally began with traditional ceremonies, including the Marchang and Zhue-Drey Phuensum Tshokpa.
The Chairperson of the Dzongkhag Tshogdu, together with Dasho Dzongdag, virtually launched the Annual Report for the 2024โ2025 financial year in the presence of all members. The sessionโs key agenda items included a presentation by the Dzongkhag Finance Officer on the progress of developmental activities for FY 2024โ2025, along with an overview of the controllable budget for FY 2025โ2026. This was followed by a presentation from the Dzongkhag Planning Officer on the approved budget activities for the 2025โ2026 fiscal year. The session further continued with deliberations on activities endorsed during the respective Gewog Tshogdes, ahead of their submission for Dzongkhag Tshogdu approval, as well as discussions on various issues and challenges faced by the gewogs.
Alongside the regular DT members and observers, the session is also attended by the National Council Member of Mongar Dzongkhag, Honโble Tshering Wangchen, whose presence added significance to the discussions.
The session will continue for tomorrow, with the aim of collectively addressing the identified issues and seeking practical solutions to support the overall development and well-being of the Dzongkhag and its gewogs.
