The 10th Dzongkhag Tshogdu (DT) of Mongar Dzongkhag commenced on July 28, 2026, with the traditional Zhudrel Phunsum Tsogpa. The session was attended by the Venerable Lam Neten, the Member of the National Council, Dasho Drangpoen,Dasho SP as well as regional and sector heads.
During the first day of the session, the DT Secretary presented the follow-up status from the previous Dzongkhag Tshogdu. Additionally, the focal committee addressed findings and resolutions regarding the new location for the Mongar Gewog Centre and agreed to extend the operating hours for local vegetable vendors.
The Finance Committee presented the annual budget allocation for the 2026โ2027 financial year, while the Planning Section outlined the planned activities for the same period. Furthermore, the plans and activities for the 17 Gewog Administrations were presented to the House.
The House also discussed agricultural land development and product development including cardamom and areca nut improvement as well as road connectivity between Silambi and Bjoka Gewogs, specifically focusing on Dali Chiwog and Silambi Gewog, among other topics.
This will be the final Dzongkhag Tsogdu session of the 3rd Local Government and is scheduled to conclude tomorrow.
