The Dzongkhag Monitoring Committee, along with all the engineers of Mongar Dzongkhag, made a field visit to the on-going Blacktopping site at Zunglen chiwog and the Asphalt Plants at Nuchi and Kurizam. Dzongkhag Engineers in large group were invited as part of their technical-skill enhancement and to get hands-on practical field training on the Black Topping works.
In addition to physical inspection, the engineers inspected/conducted the following:
1. Measurement of temperature at various stages of the bitumen mix;
2. Operation of Paver machine to lay bitumen mix;
3. Rolling process and guidance to the operators, and
4. Quality Monitoring Process as per the monitoring checklist;
The team also visited the Asphalt Plant sites to inspect and learn the mix process. Also conducted the field test of one of the asphalt plants before its approval.
