To promote health and well-being among civil servants and the general public, Mongar Dzongkhag joined the rest of the nation in celebrating the Civil Service Wellness Day on 25th April 2026. To ensure broader participation among civil servants, the Mongar Dzongkhag has established five clusters (Nagor, Dramedtse, Gyalpoizhing, Chaskhar and Mongar) based on levels of remoteness. At Mongar, the CSWD was celebrated at the Public Ground. The program began at 6:00 AM with the registration of participants and a briefing on the marathon route.

A total of 195 participants took part in the dayโ€™s activities, with 153 registered for the marathon and 42 participating in the Zumba/Sorig Zhiney session.

In the Womenโ€™s Category out of 44 registered participants, 30 completed the run within the stipulated time of 2 hours duration. In womenโ€™s above 40 years Category, 15 registered and below 40 years Category 29 registered. Completion times ranged from 1 hour 52 minutes to 2 hours 11 minutes. In Menโ€™s above 40 years Category, among the 62 registered, 12 participants completed the run and below 40 years Category, among the 47 registered, 18 participants completed the run.

The fastest participant finished in 1 hour 30 minutes, while the last to complete crossed the finish line at 2 hours 28 minutes.

Flag-offs were conducted at 7:00 AM for men and 7:05 AM for women respectively. Simultaneously, a Zumba/Sorig Zhiney session was held at the Public Ground for non-marathon participants.

To acknowledge outstanding performances, medals were awarded to the top three finishers, and certificates were awarded to the fourth and fifth in each category. All the completed participants were informed that e-certificate would be sent via their email.

Following the marathon, the MSTF-CBSS team in partnership with ERRH conducted an awareness session on NCDs, highlighting the importance of lifestyle choices in preventing chronic illnesses. The event concluded with a keynote address by Dasho Dzongdag, followed by a group Zumba dance and traditional suja-shamdrey refreshment session.

Mongar Dzongkhag congratulates all the participants and winners, and extends sincere appreciation to all individuals and agencies who contributed to the success of this important event.
