The Election Commission of Bhutan, in pursuance of Sections 577 and 579 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, hereby called for a Bye-Elections in Zangkhar Chiwog, Drmaedtse Gewog, Monggar Dzongkhag after the death of an incumbent.
Of the four Tshogpa candidates vying for the post, two candidates secured a tie vote.
The Election Commission of Bhutan, in pursuance to Sections 463 of the Election Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2008, notified a Re-Election for Tshogpa Post in Zangkhar Chiwog due to the candidates securing an equal number of votes in the Bye-Elections of the Third Local Government Elections conducted with the poll day on 28th September 2023.
On 19 October 2023, 37 postal voters and 110 EVM voters separated the two candidates with a difference of 29 votes. An elected candidate, upon issuance of a certificate from the ECB, took an Oath of Allegiance presided over by Drangpon, Royal Court of Justice, Monggar Dzongkhag, in the presence of Dasho Dzongdag, Representative of Lam Neten, Dzongkhag Tshogdu Thridzin, and Dzongrab.
