The Million Fruit Tree Plantation (MFTP) program has made impressive strides since its inception in 2022. The program's goal is to plant millions of fruit trees across Bhutan to boost agricultural sustainability, enhance food security, and provide economic benefits through fruit production.
The inaugural event at Kidheykhar shedra, launched by the Honorable Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, aligned with the birth anniversary of His Majesty the King of Bhutan, on 21st February 2025 and highlighting the national significance of this initiative.
It was witness by communities of Kidheykhar, De-Sung, Monks, ARDC, Agriculture field staff, CARLEP, Department of Agriculture headed by Director, FAO representative.
