The 5th Dzongkhag Tshogdu session of the third Local Government, held on the auspicious 3rd day of the 2nd Bhutanese month, concluded after two days of discussions and deliberations. Chaired by the Chairperson of the Dzongkhag Tshogdu, the session saw the participation of key figures including the Hon’ble Dasho Dzongdag, Dasho Drangpon, Dasho SP, LG members, Thromde representatives, and Regional and sector heads of the Dzongkhag Administration.
On the first day of the session, the Dzongkhag Accounts Officer presented an overview of the activities and the proposed budget. This presentation had been previously endorsed by the Dzongkhag Finance Committee. The members and attendees engaged in discussions and deliberations regarding the agendas that had not been endorsed during the previous session (the 4th Dzongkhag Tshogdu) and those received through Gewog Tshogdes.
The primary focus of the session was to endorse the plans, programs, and budgets proposed by the Dzongkhag, gewogs, and sectors for the financial year 2024-2025. After thorough discussions, the session concluded successfully with the offering of His Majesty’s Zhabtoen and Trashi Moenlam, signifying reverence and respect for the monarch and auspicious aspirations for the future.
