The Mongar Dzongkhag Administration, through the Disaster Management Office, in collaboration with the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP), Mongar, is conducting a three-day Search and Rescue (SAR) Refresher Course from 8 October 2026. The programme brings together personnel from the RBP, Desuups, Bhutan Power Corporation, Health and other relevant agencies.

The course aims to strengthen emergency preparedness, enhance practical rescue skills, and promote effective multi-agency coordination during disasters and emergencies. Key areas of training include rescue knots, rope and anchor systems, rappelling, first aid, patient handling and packaging, stretcher operations, and safe handling and use of fire extinguishers.
Participants will also engage in practical demonstrations, hands-on exercises and scenario-based rescue activities to strengthen their confidence and operational readiness.
The programme is expected to enhance the capacity of frontline responders, strengthen teamwork and coordination, and ensure a faster, safer and more effective response to disasters and emergencies .
